Julio Neira

Cuban visual artist with 35+ years of practice, 32 solo exhibitions, and works in the Collection of Contemporary Cuban Art. Featured in the Havana Biennial 2006.

Julio Neira is a Cuban visual artist with more than 35 years of professional practice, making him one of the most extensively documented artists in the Run Art Inside collective. His exhibition record includes 32 solo shows (1991–2019), over 50 international group exhibitions, and participation in the prestigious Havana Biennial of 2006.

Neira’s works form part of the Collection of Contemporary Cuban Art, a distinction that places him among the recognized voices of his generation. His artistic practice explores themes of memory, water, and cultural identity — elements that converge powerfully in his representative piece Sombras de Agua (Shadows of Water), featured in the Run Art Inside catalogue.

The breadth of Neira’s international presence is reflected in exhibitions across Cuba, the United States, and Europe, as well as in his active digital footprint through his official website (julio-neira.org) and Instagram presence. This combination of institutional validation, critical mass of exhibitions, and digital accessibility makes him one of the strongest profiles in the collective.

Based in Miami, Neira continues to develop new bodies of work while contributing his extensive experience to the collaborative environment of Run Art Inside and Run Art Foundry.
